FUNics and the COMMUNITY
FUNics in Charity & Communit Events

FUNics Productions is the brainchild of a group of local cartoonists who had shared the passion for drawing comics since they were teenagers. Starting off as a local comic artist interest group, we help and guide the young artists to a more professional field and infused the very joy of comic drawing into the lives of the heartlander through the involvement in charity and community events.

Participating in charity and community events not only presents us with precious opportunities to share our creative endeavors with the general masses of Singapore, more importantly, it gives us, as local artists who have been inspired and nurtured by this very island we stand on, the chance to contribute our part to the society. This is why we are deeply involved in charity and community events.

The charity and community events we've involved are as follow:

  • Live comic demo & free caricature drawing @ (Sengkang) "Rivervale Vista RC Kampung Night".

  • Live comic demo & caricature drawing @ "Punggol North CCC Family Carnival".

  • Beyond Social Service Centre fund raising project, "2003 Street Wise Run Roadshow" @ National Youth Park. FUNics artists spend a day painting a live size graffiti & mural wall to convey the message of anti-delinquency. We also do caricature drawing to help to raise fund for the social services centre.

  • "The Amazing Singapore Race" @ Orchard Green. Live caricature drawing to raise funds for CyberCare, an organization that runs life-enrichment programmes for youth and kids from homes and orphanages under National Council of Social Services (NCSS).

  • "Fuel Your Mind @ Gila Gong", Pasir Ris Park . Live Demo of comic drawing and caricature drawing for participants of the community events for residents of Punggo-Pasir Ris. Event organized by Northeast CDC.

  • "Minister Visit to Punggol North". Live comic demo, free caricature drawing and comic workshop for the residents of Sengkang & Punggol North. Drawn the caricature of the VIP, Minister Khaw Boon Wan and presented to the minister as a gift from Punggol North CCC.

  • Singapore Deaf Association, "National Deaf Day" @ Parco. Free caricature drawing for the hearing impaired members of Singapore Deaf Association.

  • Beyond Social Service Centre, "MILK MONEY" fund raising drive @ Wisma Atria Shopping Centre. Together with unfortunate children from Beyond Social Service Centre, FUNics artists created 6 wall mural painting along the theme of “Helping Others”.

  • "TRUE HEARTS". Created 2 wall mural painting, along the theme "People Helping People" in less than 5 hrs for “TRUE HEARTS” charity event organized by Community Chest.

  • "Manga Mania @ Singapore Art Museum". FUNics supported in organizing the first comic event of Singapore Art Museum . We introduce and promote the Art of Comic to the arts lovers by conducting a workshop, live demo session and hands on for the public session.

  • "Path Fiesta @ Istana Park". Funics is invited to participate in this Arts event, doing a live comic drawing demonstration to the President, Mr S.R.Nathan and the First Lady.

  • "FUNics with Comics @ Parco". FUnics co-organise with Parco Bugis Junction in organizing a 6 days comics carnival with exhibitions of local comic artists' artwork, live comic & caricature demo and workshops to promote the art of comic to the Singaporeans.

  • "KDF Roadshow @ Street Festival". Helping KDF (Kidney Dialyasis Foundation) to create buttons with their comic mascot and doing live comic demo at their booth to draw crowds and awareness to the public and their volunteer recruitment drive.

  • "Sculpture Carnival". Live comic demo and workshop at Sculpture Carnival held by non-profit Art Organisation, Sculpture Square .

  • "Holiday comic workshop @ CDAC". Funics conducted various holiday comic workshops at CDAC (Chinese Development Assistant Council) Student Service Centre catered to their members from low income family.

  • "Anime @ ACM". Funics artists supported Asian Civilizations Museum in organizing the comic and animation event. "Anime@ACM". FUNics supported the event in doing live traditional and digital comic drawing, 13 comic workshops to schools and the comic competition organize by ACM.

  • "FUNics Comix Workshop". This workshop is jointly organised by and Funics and The Association of Comic Artists ( Singapore ), in celebration of SHINE, a youth festival supported by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council.
